  1. 1. Where can I find out the location of my base station?

You can contact your provider to find out the location of the base station. In Germany, you can visit the website of the federal networks agency, the "Bundesnetzagentur", on which you can see the locations of all base stations.

  1. 2. Can I install the antenna in my attic?

It depends on the circumstances in the attic; thermal insulation, thick snowfall on the roof, and thermal insulation glazing can all severely weaken the reception signal and therefore have a negative effect on your data rate, which is why we recommend you always install the antenna outside the building.

  • 3. Why do you not offer an antenna within the frequency range from 800 MHz to 2.6 GHz?

To achieve the most optimum receiving and transmitting power possible, the antenna must be designed to be particularly narrow-band. In the case of an antenna with a frequency range from 800 MHz to 2.6 GHz, the optimum transmitting and receiving power lies somewhere within this band, for example, the antenna has a receiving optimum at 1400 MHz. As we want to achieve the optimum within the respective LTE frequency range, we offer antennas for different LTE frequency ranges.

  • 4. With which LTE frequency ranges are the antennae compatible?

The novero Dabendorf LTE 800 MIMO antenna is designed for the LTE 800 MHz frequency range, the antenna receives within the 732…852 MHz range.
The novero Dabendorf LTE 1800 MIMO antenna is designed for the LTE 1800 MHz frequency range, the antenna receives within the 1710…1880 MHz range.
The novero Dabendorf LTE 2600 MIMO antenna is designed for the LTE 2600 MHz frequency range, the antenna receives within the 2500…2690 MHz range.

  • 5. With which routers is the novero LTE antenna compatible?

The novero Dabendorf LTE antenna is compatible with all popular LTE routers and LTE sticks. These include the following routers and sticks:

LTE Router LTE Stick
Huawei B390 Vodafone K5005*
Vodafone B1000 Telekom Speedstick LTE*
Vodafone LTE Turbobox
AVM Fritz!Box 6840
LTE Huawei O2 LTE Router

*Es wird zusätzlich ein Adapter von SMA auf TS9 benötigt

  1. 6. I have a Huawei B390 router / Vodafone B1000 or a T-Mobile Speedport LTE, how can I read out the reception strength?

Instructions are given here

  1. 7. I have a router with 2 external antenna connections; do I need 2 novero antennas?

No, novero Dabendorf LTE antennas are so-called MIMO antennas; this means that 2 antennas are integrated in them. They have an antenna for the horizontal area and an antenna for the vertical area.

  • 8. Can I paint the novero Dabendorf antenna?

Painting the antenna housing can have minimum effects on the reception quality; however, these should be negligible. You should not use metallic paints.

  • 9. Which connectors are used at the antenna, are they suitable for outdoor use?

BNC plug-in connectors are used at the LTE antenna: these are of course suitable for outdoor use. We use BNC connectors, which have been tested to all MIL standards.

  • 10. Why do I not notice any improvement after connecting the antenna or my reception is worse than without an antenna?

This could be due to the following reason: You have not aligned your antenna with a transmission mast or you have aligned it with the wrong transmission mast.

  • 11. I would like to assemble a cable myself, which connections does the cable need?

You can naturally also use a cable assembled to your needs, instead of our standard cable 1630-10000. The following diagram shows the connector details.

2 Leitungen. Diese müssen die gleiche Länge aufweisen.

  • 12. How far is the range of the novero LTE MIMO antenna?

It is unfortunately not possible for us to give precise details for the range, as these values depend on the individual local circumstances. We have performed tests (LTE 800 MIMO antenna), in which a measurable reception improvement was still detectable after 16.5 km. The local topographical circumstances play a decisive role!

Do I have a "line-of-sight link" to the tower? Are there any mountains or forests between by location and the transmitter mast? How high is the transmitter mast? What type of antenna cable am I using and how long is the cable?

Basically, it is true to say that the novero LTE 800 MIMO antenna always contributes to improving the line. If you have a weak LTE signal, you can amplify it by using the antenna. If there are frequent losses of connection, the antenna helps, e.g. to shield off possible jammers or interference signals, and therefore to increase the signal-to-noise ratio. This means that the signal quality and therefore the download and upload rates increase.

  • 13. How large are the novero LTE MIMO antennas?

When we developed the antenna we not only concentrated on the line, but also the appearance; the novero LTE antennas are outwardly small and very inconspicuous.
